Adventure Time!

By | 2019-02-03T21:07:43+00:00 February 3rd, 2019|Mom|

We've been busy, searching for child friendly venues and places where the kids can have an awesome time. Below are some places that we've found, we will add more as we continue our adventures... Delta cafe Great venue, Menu is a bit limited as they don't really have that many healthy options but they said they are going to change it up a little soon. They have kiddies options that are very tasty, my daughter loved the spaghetti bolognaise. The play area is okay but not shaded. They are in the process of creating a new play area, that is [...]

A Letter To Kaylee On Her First Birthday.

By | 2018-07-13T12:13:02+00:00 July 13th, 2018|Mom|

Kayla, I clearly remember the day of your birth. Our dream had become a reality. You were in NICU for a few weeks after birth but as I reflect on this, you have come out stronger than ever! God has his hand on you and you have been such a blessing from the day of conception. In the beginning of your life I had no clue about what I was supposed to do but you taught me so much through the precious moments we have had together. We have both grown so much this past year! You have taught me [...]

THINGS THAT HAPPEN WHEN YOU BECOME A MOM….

By | 2018-05-05T19:38:40+00:00 May 5th, 2018|Mom|

When you become a mom...... You put on a new outfit, it gets vomited or pooped on Washing never ends As you change a nappy, they poop If you are breastfeeding, your outfits are chosen by what works You never get to shower or bath in peace You always have company when you go to the bathroom You rock or sway in public even when your child isn't with you As you get your child to sleep and then you start to fall asleep, they wake up When you do get time alone, you miss them You learn to do [...]

The Strongest most Gentle mother

By | 2018-04-08T21:02:06+00:00 April 8th, 2018|Mom|

I have hacked my wife's blog to write this post just to show my wife how truly awesome she is.   Looking back at out journey so far I can only but stand in awe of how incredibly resilient and tenacious Case has been on this journey. My wife has this inner strength that I can only look at in wonder and envy. Firstly in conceiving, after miscarrying and being told by numerous doctors, friends and family; "Oh, it's fine, your still young, you have plenty of time." Whilst the exact opposite is true, you should not be having fertility [...]

YOU’RE A MARVELOUS MOM.

The hardest thing about becoming a mom (besides the lack of sleep), would be opinions and judements. Friends, haven't judged me for breast feeding because it's my own choice and I didn't judge their decision to put their children on formula. Friends, haven't judged me for going back to work even if they are stay-at-home moms. Friends, haven't pushed me to start solids because I can decide when my child is ready. Friends, haven't judged me on how I put my child to sleep because I do what works for me. Friends, haven't judged me for co-sleeping because if it [...]

JOURNEY TO MOTHERHOOD

By | 2017-10-02T19:16:45+00:00 October 2nd, 2017|Mom|

It's time. We decided we wanted to grow our family in July 2015. Since I had been diagnosed with endometriosis and my previous gynecologist recommended I get a Mirena 4 years prior, we organized to have it removed. And so the waiting begun. Spring baby In the beginning of September I had a dream I was pregnant, we had pregnancy tests in the bathroom cupboard and I tested at 2 am. Positive. Wow. The excitement began, early morning conversations, over excited to start our family. It happened so fast and we felt so grateful for the journey ahead. Most people [...]

THE BIRTH OF KAYLA JESSICA

By | 2017-10-12T22:13:08+00:00 September 12th, 2017|Mom|

The day arrived. It had been such a journey getting to that point and we were finally on the way to meet our miracle baby girl. We entered the hospital, completed the odds and ends of the paper work and made our way to the maternity ward. Room B3. We were booked for 3 nights but at that point we didn't have any knowledge that we would be staying a bit longer... They checked Kayla's heartbeat at around 7 am and we had a good laugh about the ancient machine that was still in use. Allison (Justin's aunt) joined us [...]
